How do I RSVP, and when is the deadline?

What is the dress code?



The dress code is black tie optional. This means you have the option of wearing your most formal attire - whether that's a suit, tux, long or short cocktail dress, evening gown, dressy jumpsuit, or your nicest pants and snazziest dress blouse...



Are children invited?



Please note that this will be an adults-only celebration. We respectfully request that no children younger than 14 attend the wedding or reception.



Will the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception take place indoors or outdoors?



All of the wedding events will take place indoors. Washington, DC has variable weather in the winter - it could be 60 and sunny, 40 with cold rain and wind, or (more rarely) 30 with picture perfect fluffy snow.



What will your wedding day timeline look like?



The wedding will begin at the cathedral promptly at 2:30 p.m. We encourage you to plan to arrive no later than 2:15 p.m. to allow for any potential delays. We invite you to head to the Mayflower Hotel, a three-minute walk from the church, afterward for cocktail hour starting at 4:30 p.m. in the mezzanine overlooking the main lobby with the reception immediately to follow in the Mayflower's State Ballroom.



Is there parking available at the venue? How do I get there?



Please see the parking section on the travel and accommodations page for detailed information regarding parking and arrival instructions. Downtown DC is a very dense urban environment, so we recommend giving yourself plenty of extra time to get into the city and find a spot.



I have dietary restrictions - what is the best way to let you know?



When sending your RSVP, please note any special restrictions in the text box when making your meal selections. We will follow up if we need additional information.



Have you booked hotel room blocks for guests?



Yes! We have secured a very reasonable rate for a block of rooms at the Mayflower Hotel, the site of the cocktail hour and reception. Please visit the Staying Here section on the travel and accommodations section for more detail.
